Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP), which seeks to strengthen individuals, families and communities through direct services and community collaborations that create solutions to poverty, is looking to hire a Support Services Coordinator.
The Support Services Coordinator is responsible for determining eligibility for public assistance programs and linking clients to community resources, requiring competency in the rules/requirements and processes for multiple assistance programs.
The Support Services Coordinator also serves as the Asset Organizer for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance during the tax season.
Requirements:
Associates Degree in Social Services or Business Administration or related field and/or three years of experience working in social services, or a related field Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed during tax season.
Experience in office coordination, management, public speaking, training or related field.
Currently hold or able to obtain IRS Advanced level preparer certification and VITA Site Coordinator exam.
Knowledgeable of state and federal rules and regulations pertaining to assistance programs.
Clerical/office experience including accurate keyboarding and math skills.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, telephone, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, possess critical thinking and problem solving skills and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to write legibly and spell accurately.
Possess a valid driver's license and have use of a vehicle insured to State of Maine requirements to travel within all of KVCAP's service areas.
Ability to pass State Bureau of Investigation, Department of Motor Vehicle, Department of Health and Human Services, Sex Offender Registry and Fraud background checks.
