Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP), which seeks to strengthen individuals, families and communities through direct services and community collaborations that create solutions to poverty, is looking to hire a highly motivated and experienced FULL TIME (32 hrs/ week) Teen Center Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operation of the South End Teen Center.
The Teen Center Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Alfond Youth Center as a satellite unit of the Waterville Boys & Girls Club (WBGC).
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating teen center programming, supervising staff and volunteers, and ensuring the safety and well-being of youth that attend the teen center.
Essential duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Manage staff performance, fostering a positive learning environment that promotes professional growth and develops individualized plans for continuous improvementCoordinate and supervise Colby and Thomas College volunteers, work study students and community volunteers.
Ensure that all volunteers are screened, background checked and oriented to KVCAP and the Alfond Youth Center.
Develop and maintain relationships and close communication with Colby and Thomas College groups or staff that provide or have access to potential volunteersMaintain program data to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; food distribution requirements; CSBG reporting requirements; and other reporting required by funders.
Requirements:
Two years' experience working with youth in a recreational or social service settingSupervisory experience/skills and the ability to use creative thinking and problem solving skillsAbility to work autonomously and travel, as neededExcellent written and oral communication, organizational and computer skillsPossess a Valid driver's license insured to state of Maine requirementsAbility to pass State Bureau of Investigation, Department of Motor Vehicle, Department of Health and Human Services, Fraud, and Sex offender registry background checks.
