Job Details:
Minimum 3 years experience preferred

Provides complete customer service assistance for patient accounts receivables for MaineGeneral Medical Center and MaineGeneral Physician Practices. Provides registration/check-in, scheduling of appointments and encounters, payment posting, billing, claims & denial resolution and other accounts receivable
services
to patients/customers who call or visit the Business Office main location or medical center campus locations. Ensure appropriate handling and coordination of demographic and financial information in order to maintain financial viability, ensure excellent and consistent customer experience and ensure appropriate & timely reimbursement of patient accounts receivables.
Qualifications/Competencies:

CPAT, CCAT, CRCR or CPC preferred.

Associate's degree preferred.

3 years of revenue cycle experience required; 5 years or more years of revenue cycle experience preferred; combination of various revenue cycle functions/experience (such as a combination of experience in physician office management or accounts receivables, hospital billing, scheduling, registration, case management, medical records, collections or medical office) strongly preferred.

Extensive knowledge of revenue cycle work flows, processes,
computer
system and health care including physician and facility billing practices.

Excellent customer services skills including telephone, negotiation, team building and conflict resolution skills.

Superior problem-solving and analytical skills.

Demonstrated ability to handle interruptions, effectively manage more than one task at a time and work independently and as part of a team.

Effective communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills.

Excellent and demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills.

Proficiency in a suite of Microsoft Office applications, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Medical terminology.

Must be self-directed.

Demonstrates immediate level of knowledge and skill in billing of all payers in PFS (government, managed care and commercial billing).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
