Job Details:

Completes timely and accurate billing of patient service revenue for MaineGeneral Medical Center, Maine Dartmouth Family Practice, Family Medicine Institute, andJackmanRegionHealthCenter. Provides complete customer service assistance for patient accounts receivables for above entities. Ensures appropriate handling and coordination of demographic and financial information in order to maintain financial viability and appropriate reimbursement of patient accounts task coverage for the billing team as needed to ensure timely and accurate billing during vacancies, including scheduled and unscheduled absences.
Edits and releases claims for insurance and/or self pay carriers on all patient accounts including primary, secondary, tertiary and fourth insurances. Ensure appropriate billing formats are completed for insurance carriers, i.e., HCFA 1500 UB92, itemized bills, and demand/detail billing.Makes appropriate corrections to claims using secondary editor or Medicare software as needed, ensuring timely processing of claims by the insurance carrier.
Qualifications/Competencies:

High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) or Associate's degree preferred.

3 years experience in Physician or hospital billing experience preferred.

1year of Patient Financial Services billing experience preferred.

Excellent and demonstrated interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Problem solving skills and excellent analytical ability.

Advanced understanding of accounting and billing principles.

Exceptional productivity and accuracy.

Completion of Crucial Conversations Mastery Class.

Proficiency in a suite of Microsoft Office applications
